Please Carefully read the directions below to Correctly prepare and send your material for Mastering.
To Correctly Prepare and Send your Material for Mastering Please CAREFULLY follow ALL of the directions below. Failure to follow the directions may result in you having to re-send your material correctly.
Create a new folder on your desktop. The name of the folder should be your Full Name. Within that folder create another folder named the Song or Album Title. Within the folder, you will place your Mix for Mastering and your Documentation. The folder should now look like this.
Now you will need to export your Mixdown from your DAW. First, make sure your project has any limiters and compressors removed from the master track in your session.
NOTE: If the level meter on the Master track hits 0.0db, you're pushing the levels too much. Getting your songs to PEAK at a maximum of around -3dB gives me room to work with your project. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. IF YOUR MASTER TRACK HAS A LIMITER, IS NORMALIZED, HITS 0.0, OR CLIPS, I CAN NOT MASTER THE SONG.
If the master track is peaking/clipping above -3db, go back and lower the volume of each track in your project until the master track peaks at around -3db. It's VERY IMPORTANT!
You will need to provide a Text Document containing:
Tempo and Song Key (If you do not know this it is ok)
Services you ordered
Name & Contact Information
Cover Art (Not Mandatory)
ISRC (usisrc.org), NOTE: ISRC is Not mandatory.
Any notes you want to include for the Mixing process.
Once your Mix & Documents are placed in the folders you created, you MUST COMPRESS/ZIP THE MAIN FOLDER. (right-click on folder)
Once the folder is compressed please use the form to the right to upload the folder. Make sure to fill out all the requested information. If the material has been sent correctly, you will receive a confirmation email.
